Opening Burning Requirements
City of
Brighton
There is no burning allowed within the limits of the city.
Genoa
Township
and Charter Township of Brighton
Burning of leaves, brush, limbs and tree cutting shall be allowed.
Genoa Township and the Township of Brighton allows opening burning year around.
Note: The fire department
has the right to ask you to extinguish an open burn even it you have a
valid permit if; it is determine to be offensive or objectionable due to smoke,
odor or particle emissions when conditions or local circumstances make the fire
hazardous, or when any burning would be in violation of codes and rules.
No open burning is allowed on commercial property.
