FREE SMOKE DETECTORS

The Brighton Area Fire Department has launched an initiative to ensure that there is at least one working smoke detector in every residence in the City of Brighton, Brighton and Genoa Township.  Brighton fire fighters will come to your home at no charge and install a working smoke detector.  Installation takes only fifteen minutes.  This program is available only to residents of the City of Brighton, Brighton Township and Genoa Township.

Residents can schedule an appointment by calling 810-229-6640.  Tell us you saw this notice on the web.

The U.S. has one of the highest fire death rates in the industrialized world. In 2000, fire killed more Americans than all natural disasters combined, and direct property loss was estimated at 11 billion. Of all fire fatalities, 80% occur in the home, and of those approximately 85% occur in single-family homes and duplexes.
